About
I believe in the importance of honoring your unique story. Our stories – and the narratives we internalize about our stories – significantly shape the ways we engage with God, ourselves, and others. The first step in the healing journey is always powerful, and sometimes it can come with a sense of trepidation or hesitancy. Taking this step to seek care and share your story is a holy and sacred act. It would be a privilege to watch the Lord work in your life through our time together.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
As a counselor, some of my goals are to help you uncover the narratives that have shaped you, and to get to the root of the issues that trouble you. My hope is that you will experience a felt sense that you are not alone in your story, and that you will gain a renewed sense of safety and trust within yourself that you can take with you into the world.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a place of safety and trust where we can enter the depths of your story together to bring into light things that have been in darkness. My desire is for our sessions to be interactive, relaxed, and conversational, with a mutual commitment to be present and engaged in the work. You can expect me to be attuned and attentive to your experience. Additionally, you can expect me to bring a posture of curiosity, inviting you to be curious about yourself as we dig deeper into your emotional experience of your unique story.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
I believe that a Christian approach to counseling provides a holistic framework for care as well as a lasting impact for continued transformation – the holistic framework being the ability to address spiritual matters as well as mental and emotional ones. My faith in Jesus informs my practice through the belief that Jesus is committed to my clients’ healing, freedom, and continued transformation even more than I am. This informs my thinking about being committed to the therapeutic relationship for the long haul. Healing and transformation often take time, and Jesus is willing to walk with us through every aspect of that journey.
