About
Whether a person is seasoned in their walk with God or just beginning the journey, each of us experience moments in life when we need human help and support. In our sessions together there may be hard work to do and challenges for you to work through, but I believe this is how we grow. You’ll also have opportunities to get to know more about yourself in the process, and to better understand and recognize any ways of thinking and being that have masked your true self. I know firsthand that God is able to make all things new and beautiful in His time.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My primary goal as a counselor is to be a vessel and instrument that God can use to provide help, encouragement, comfort, and support to individuals, couples, and families, particularly during a time of healing and restoration. I hope that every client that I come in contact with will be encouraged, strengthened, and free to be all that God has intended them to be.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a safe, sacred, and supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. I depend on the Holy Spirit to bring to the surface what needs to be dealt with. Sometimes the things that emerge are emotionally difficult to talk about, but I have found that there is great freedom in discovering that mercy has been waiting for you and that mercy triumphs over judgment.
When appropriate in session, I also utilize the integration of art, music, journaling, and story crafting as well as therapeutic role play, which often proves to be a wonderful part of the therapeutic process.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
In the Gospel of John, we read about a time when many of Jesus’ disciples turned away from following Him. Jesus then asked those closest to Him, “You don’t want to go away too, do you?” Simon Peter answered, “Lord, who will we go to? You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:67-68). These verses remind me that there is no other place where we can go to find true and eternal life. The world is full of distractions. We are inundated with urgent messages that make us feel fearful, inferior, or left out. Christian counseling is rooted and grounded on what God has to say to you, about you, and the plans that He has made for you.
